Corsica wine region of France : birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte

The Mediterranean island of Corsica is an "under the radar" winemaking region in France, producing wines from a terroir infused with volcanic embers. Close proximity to Italy provides influences to Corsican native grapes , which are descended from Italian Sangiovese grape varietals.
